Research Managers Network

Network activities and calls from partner institutions

Training research managers and empowering researchers throughout the project and beyond

Established in February 2023, the Research Managers Network connects more than 20 research managers and data and communication specialists across the EUROPAST consortium institutions. All EUROPAST project administrators and managers are members of the network, and employees that are not directly involved in EUROPAST management are also welcome to join and share varying experiences from partner institutions.

The aim is to offer a support network for the mutual development of research managers from the EUROPAST institutions. The network will also serve as a platform for ongoing information exchange between the consortium partners to facilitate collaboration among researchers from different institutions.

Online Coffee Talks

We regularly invite our colleagues to dedicate an afternoon break to sharing the latest developments in the field through informal conversations known as EUROPAST Coffee Talks. Every event is dedicated to a different topic related to research management and combines an introductory presentation with examples of best practices from each partner institution. This series of one-hour discussions gives research managers an opportunity to extend their knowledge and bring new perspectives and practices to their home institutions. The series includes the following topics:

May 2023. The role of gender in research. Speakers: Aurelija Povilaikė (Research Council of Lithuania) and Dr. Corinna Kuhr-Korolev (Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History Potsdam).

December 2023. Best practices of the research platform DigitalHistory@Lund. Speaker: Dr. Kajsa Weber (Lund University). Registration to the event is available here.

Managers Lab

Interactive workshops provide extensive guidance for each stage of the research management process and give research managers in the consortium the opportunity to exchange best practices. Managers Lab modules cover such topics as preparing international grant proposals, equality and diversity in research, knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship, and research ethics and integrity.

One of the Managers Lab days is held together with the Researchers Lab, to engage administrative and research staff in the collaborative process of drafting future grant proposals. Two Managers Labs will take place during the project:

Researchers and Managers Lab #1 (18-20 October 2023), hosted by Lund University. Find the programme of the event here. Organisers: Lund university Research Service, Barbara Törnquist-Plewa, Odeta Rudling, Dora Komnenović, Rasa Bortkevičiūtė. The programme of the event is available here.

Researchers and Managers Lab #2 will take place in December 2024 – February 2025 and will be hosted by Vilnius University.

Information exchange
